    Visit the pretty little town of Beromünster and discover art-historical treasures. The castle museum with the oldest printing press in Switzerland or the rich local history museum invite you to discover. The collegiate church of St. Michael - a Romanesque columned basilica dating from 1036 with crypt - marvel at richly carved choir stalls dating from 1609. The altars, pulpit, baptismal font and three organs are of great artistic quality. Remodelled several times, the collegiate church is one of the most beautiful rococo buildings in Switzerland.

    It was founded in 1995 by Toni Röösli. On a total area of 20,000 m², 480 animals from 96 species are kept. They cover a broad spectrum: for example, it has many reptiles and birds, but also mammals from various genera. Some of the animals are housed in a walk-in tropical house.

    The Beromünster Radio Trail takes you on a beautiful circular walk past seven listening stations where you can hear the eventful history of the Beromünster radio station. Admission is free, and the walk from Beromünster bus station takes 45 minutes. A fireplace is located directly at the transmitter tower.

    Forest Cathedral

    On the Schlössliweg between the collegiate church of Beromünster and Schlösslifeld is the Waldkathedrale Beromünster, alternatively also somewhat affectionately known as the Waldkathedrale Schlössliwaldi. It is a baroque park with avenues of mighty hornbeams and horse chestnuts. The park and garden complex, which is a listed building, is one of the most important monuments of garden art in the country; the Forest Cathedral is not a building, but a park landscape of trees and shrubs designed as a cathedral.

    Oasis of biodiversity with more than 700 plants, 650 species of fungi, rare amphibians, birds and mammals. A visit to the Buchenwald nature trail in Ettiswil is an unforgettable experience for young and old. Information boards and observation posts arouse curiosity, while the forest xylophone, water wheel and puzzles provide amusement. The network of paths can be used with prams and wheelchairs.
